Here's what's new with West Fort Worth Center of Hope
On December 7th we hosted our second camp at Western Hills Elementary. This camp surpassed our expectations in such an amazing way.We had over 70 children attend, and many brought their parents with them. In total we had over 100 attendees enjoying the day with us! We are so thankful for everyone who took time to volunteer with us. You are the heart of our program, and there's no way we could do this without you!
Our recreation activities included ships and sailors as well as indoor snowball games. In crafts the children created keepsake Christmas ornaments with gratitude notes inside. At snacks we made mini snowman pizzas, which were a HUGE hit! At the end of the day we closed with what is becoming Tom's new tradition, a 'bear hunt'! We were able to send each child home with a gift, which blessed not only them, but us too.
Tis' the season for giving!
This Christmas season we have had several opportunities to bless those in our community and we want to share these stories with you!
Earlier this month, we received a call from the principal of Western Hills Elementary asking us if we could help a family with an urgent need. When we got this call we were excited, as we have been blessed with the resources to give. As we began developing a relationship with this family, we learned of an opportunity to collaborate with The Hills Church. Through the giving of their congregation, we were able to bring gifts to their children and pay off their vehicle in full. Witnessing their reaction was priceless, and much glory was given to our Father in Heaven!
What's Coming Up:
We are working on setting dates for upcoming camps in the spring semester and brainstorming about summer plans.
Our office renovations are coming along! We have knocked down walls and built new ones to expand our current office space. Our next step will be painting and installing flooring.
Job Opening! We are on the lookout for a new team member. This person will do outreach to the LVT community through apartment ministry. Please contact Tom, our Executive Director for more information about this position. Please join us in praying for whoever may fill this role!
Be Sure to check us out on social media!
