Spreading the Love through Camp Hope LVT

Here's What's New with Camp Hope LVT

On February 29th we had our third camp at Western Hills Primary School. This was our first time to host Camp Hope LVT on this campus and it was an amazing experience! We had over 30 campers and over 40 volunteers attend including the principals from both primary and elementary schools. We are very thankful for everyone who reached out to volunteer. A couple weeks leading up to camp our team was praying God would provide everything we needed to host this camp and He came through for us with your help! You are an answered prayer and we couldn't do Camp Hope without your support.

Our recreation activities included team-building games such as: balloon relays, raining hearts parachute game, musical hoops, and Simon Says. For our craft activity, campers created 'friendship rocks' with heart thumbprints on flat rocks. Each child was able to exercise creativity with their work making each rock individually unique! In our snack-time activity our volunteers discussed our theme 'spread the love' while making heart-shaped PB&J sandwiches and trail mix. We ended the day with Tom's traditional bear hunt and sent everyone home with a special gift bag full of love!

Join us in welcoming a new member to our team!

Our newest team member, Mark Boerger, joined us just in time to participate in Camp Hope LVT. He ran our hospitality room and met all parents who walked through the door. Mark was very encouraging as he informed parents about all WFW Center of Hope has to offer.

As the Apartment Ministry Leader, Mark is responsible for the development of relationships with leaders, churches, volunteers, and apartment managers in the Las Vegas Trail area. Through these relationships, the goal is to help families reach self-sufficiency.

Since 2008, Mark has worked with nonprofit ministries, primarily focusing on work with the homeless and individuals returning to the community from incarceration.

Mark loves connecting people with resources, whether it is to meet needs or to offer a way to help serve. In his spare time, Mark pretends to enjoy running, probably reads too much (especially Tolkien), and loves getting lost in the woods. Mark is the proud husband of Dena and the father of three children.
